Art with Chelsea Maddox

Art has always been central to human history and experience. In this class, students will explore different eras of art, from ancient to modern times and using the techniques learned to create new art pieces. Each week, we’ll focus on a new period, with additional resources provided for further learning beyond the classroom.

Thursday – Grades 3-5 – 9:00-10:00 am

STEM with Chelsea Maddox

Humans have practiced science, math, and exploration throughout history, even before these terms existed. Many modern inventions trace back to ancient Rome and China. In this course, we’ll explore key scientific discoveries and their relevance to modern life. Students will see how science and math play a vital role in daily life. Each week, we’ll focus on a different historical period, with additional resources available for further learning beyond the classroom.

Tuesdays – Grades K-2 – 10:15-11:15 am

Thursdays – Grades 3-5 – 10:15-11:15 am

Meet Chelsea Maddox

While growing up in Atlanta, Georgia, Chelsea spent most of her school years attending fine arts classes for homeschoolers with her 8 younger siblings. Once old enough, she transitioned to leading and teaching those classes as well. She has a passion for encouraging a joy of learning with students in unconventional ways, helping to bridge the gap between subjects to help students understand their world the best way for them. By teaching both art and science through the lens of history, she hopes to foster a sense of curiosity about the world around us.

Chelsea is also the After School Program Site Coordinator for China Primary School.
