Waterville, Maine — August 6, 2024 — The Alfond Youth & Community Center is excited to announce the grand opening of the NinjAdventure Zone (NAZ), a thrilling new destination for all ages! Formerly Adventure Playland, NAZ has been reimagined to include a cutting-edge ninja obstacle course, an engaging indoor playground, and a challenging Climbing Wall. This revamped facility is set to offer endless fun and adventure for all ages.
Grand Opening Events:
Thursday, August 8:
- 4:00-6:00 pm: Join us for an Open House event that is free and open to the community. Come explore our new facilities and experience the excitement firsthand.
- 5:00-6:00 pm: Meet and greet with special guests Jesse “Flex” Labreck and Jonathan Alexis Sr. in Gym 1. Enjoy a Q&A session and get autographs from these renowned ninjas.
Friday, August 9:
Participants will have the unique opportunity to challenge themselves on the ninja obstacle course with personalized guidance from the pros. Coaches Jesse and Jonathan will be on hand to provide feedback and encouragement, helping participants refine their techniques and boost their confidence. This exclusive clinic offers a once-in-a-lifetime chance to train with ninja champions.
Session Times:
- 9:00-10:15 am: Ages 4-7
- 10:30-11:45 am: Ages 8-18
- 12:45-2:00 pm: Ages 8-18
- 3:00-4:15 pm: Ages 19+
Space is limited to 16 individuals per session, so don’t delay—register today! Sessions are $40.00 per person. One parent/guardian must accompany youth ages 12 and under for safety reasons at no additional cost.

- Jesse “Flex” Labreck: An Oakland, Maine native and multi-time American Ninja Warrior competitor, Jesse is celebrated for her impressive feats, including being the Season 2 Women’s Champion.
- Jonathan Alexis Sr.: A Waterville, Maine native, Jonathan is known for his martial arts background and his participation in American Ninja Warrior auditions alongside his son, Jon “The Giant” Alexis, Jr.
